Really short notice, but I’m giving a guest lecture in the User Experience Guest Lecture Series at Conestoga College tomorrow evening (Oct 29).

Here are the details:

In 2012 .net magazine named Responsive Web Design (RWD) as the number two Web design trend. Mashable called 2013 the year of RWD. Varying screen resolutions, window widths, preferences, and fonts have shaped how one is able to design on the Web. RWD aims to answer the question of how to best respond to the user’s view to provide an optimal user experience. Join us for a talk into this trendy topic, where we will cover the ins and outs and best practices of RWD by creating a responsive site for a small company.

Matthew is a Senior Software Developer and Scrum Master on the User Experience Platform team at Desire2Learn. He usually spends his days working with (X)HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. You will also find Matthew instructing continuing education courses at Conestoga and co-championing Communitech’s Web Developers Peer2Peer group. Matthew graduated with mechanical engineering and computer science degrees from Western University and an education degree from Trent University.
